Squeezebox Love

Thank you, Jacob Stringer, for your recent article on the Salt Lake Area Accordion Club [“Hip to Be Square,” April 15, City Weekly]. You were powerful! At our April event, I specifically asked how many persons were there because they saw the article in City Weekly, and you should have seen the hands! I was impressed.

In addition, thank you for looking at the accordion afresh, as is happening similarly elsewhere in the music world. Accordions seem to be “in,” as much in commercials as anything else. May 19, we’ll have famed Disney Alpine and Western yodeler Kerry Christensen. He was at Disney’s Epcot Center for seven years and in Disney’s feature film Home on the Range. He also has played Las Vegas and on cruise ships.
