Squatters & Wasatch Breweries & Fratelli Ristorante

From City Weekly staffers:
Ben Rosch:
I recently had an opportunity to sample the various high-alcohol content beers brewed by Squatters and Wasatch. Of the four tasted—Hop Rising, Devastator, Hell’s Keep and Summerbrau—I have to say that the Devastator was my handsdown favorite. All of them are very flavorful, but the Devastator made the best overall impression, especially the aftertaste. And, it got me hammered pretty quickly with its 8 percent alcohol-by-volume.

Nick Clark: I had the pleasure of attending Fratelli Ristorante’s (9236 Village Shop Drive, Sandy, 801-495- 4550) anniversary dinner. Here, owner/chef Pete Cannell gets to flex his chef muscles and give patrons a taste of what he can do that’s not on the menu. The seven-course meal had an optional six-course wine pairing that included five different wines (four Italian and one domestic), a sparkler and an aperitif. It was one of the best all-around meals I’ve ever had. Chef Cannell really knows his stuff! The regular menu is apparently just a taste of this young chef’s expertise.
