For good music and a good cause swing by Save Our Canyon’s annual fundraiser ball. The BYU/Utah rivalry week offers Utes and Cougars the chance to win with more than touchdowns or clever chants by donating to the rivalryweek food-drive competition. Finally, finish your holiday shopping early and earn karmic points by checking out a fundraiser for Red Butte Garden and Ten Thousand Villages.
Save Our Canyons Ball
Thursday, Nov. 12
If you enjoy the canyons of the Wasatch Range and want to see them protected for future generations, attend this annual fundraiser. Enjoy $3 steins of beer, a raffle that includes as a prize a new Voile Mojo splitboard, and the music of Kate LeDeuce & The Soul Terminators. Tickets are $7 at the door and proceeds go to nonprofit Save Our Canyons.
The Woodshed, 60 E. 800 South, Nov. 12, 8 p.m., 801-363-7283, SaveOurCanyons.org
Rivalry week is on! Don your war paint and get ready to show them snooty zoobs what’s up, or teach those cocky Utes a lesson. Regardless of who you’re rooting for, the Utah Food Bank hopes you exercise your spirit for a good cause by donating canned food or cash to help feed the poor. The timing is especially important, as more people need food due to the recession.
Utes: University of Utah, Alumni House, 155 S. Central Campus Dr., LDS Institute, 1780 E. South Campus Drive, Alumni.Utah.edu
Cougars: Brigham Young University, Wilkinson Center, 1060 N. East Campus Drive, Hinckley Center, 1230 N. West Campus Drive, StudentAlumni.BYU.edu.
