Re: “Crazy Pills

As with everything in life, it is vital to do your own research and make an educated decision about what you put into your body.

I live with schizoaffective Disorder-Bipolar Type. I had severe symptoms for 12 years but was able to stabilize in 2009 after finding the right combination of psychotropic medications and developing a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) with the help of a Peer Support Specialist. For five years, my life slowed to mellow and I was able to ride the waves of symptoms using my "Wellness Toolbox" of coping skills. In February of 2015, my carefully crafted medication cocktail stopped working. It was devastating to be on the brink of hospitalization and struggling with severe symptoms again. At that point, I turned to a friend who had been using the Q96 EMPowerPlus for several months to learn about Q96. She connected me with the annotated bibliography, the Micronutrient Support Hotline and Q Sciences. With my doctor's approval, I worked with the Micronutient Support AND my doctor to start on the micronutrients.

Initially I took the micronutrients WITH the regular dose of my prescriptions. About a month into the process, my brain began to heal and my need for prescriptions decreased. 5mg here, 25 mg there. Weeks and months of listening to my body, working with my doctor and relying on the Micronutrient Support Hotline to achieve a balance, distinguishing between the symptoms of the illness and symptoms of withdrawl from the medications. It was a painstaking process which required constant vigilance on my part and on the part of my doctor(s). After taking 17 years of high dosages of an antipsychotic, mood stabilizer, antidepressant, sleep med and anti-anxiety med (as needed), I was able to leave my medication (and the numerous side effects) behind. I've been off meds since July 24, 2015.

I learned that my chronic low Vitamin D levels are also a problem and take EMPowerPlus q96 with the Vitamin D and a probiotic.

NEVER quit psychotropic meds! If done improperly, withdrawal symptoms from psychiatric medications can literally kill. For that reason, I will forever be grateful for my doctor and his open-minded willingness to try something different when nothing else worked. He was willing to partner with me and the Micronutrient Support Hotline to see if we could make things work. It is only with their support that I was able to make the transition. I am grateful that now, after 17 years, I am free from psychotropic medications and living a quality of life that continually gets better as time passes.

It is important to note that Q Sciences vocally and frequently states that their product is not FDA approved to treat or diagnose illnesses. It is a brain health supplement. That being said, I am grateful I found EMPowerPlus q96. It changed my life. I wish I had it after my first psychotic break. It would have avoided 12 years of devastation for myself and my family.

To read more about my experience with EMPowerPlus Q96, I wrote about it here:
