Saffron Valley has all the exotic flair of Indian street food minus the street. It's not your typical Indian restaurant in that there are no esoteric paintings on the wall, no Bollywood movies blaring and no incense. There is, however, delicious street-style food at the Salt Lake City restaurant such as biryanis, curries, chaat (puri, samosas, pakoras, dabeli), kebabs, Indian wraps and flatbreads. All of the options are as flavorful as you'd expect from a restaurant whose owner, Lavanya Mahate, also owns a nationally distributed spice company, East India Pantry.
