Oddly enough, the dish I like the most at Ruth’s Chris Steak House isn’t steak. It’s Ruth’s signature chopped salad, made with julienned iceberg lettuce, spinach and radicchio, sliced red onions and mushrooms, minced green olives, bacon, eggs, hearts of palm, croutons, bleu cheese and lemon-basil dressing, cherry tomatoes and a kitchen sink. Now that’s a salad! Oh, by the way, the steaks don’t suck too much either, if you can afford ’em. The USDA Prime ribeye is my favorite and, frankly, I’d just stay home and cook one there if I had a grill that could sear steaks at 1,800 degrees. But I don’t. So, now and again, I bite the bullet and splurge at Ruth’s Chris, and every time I do, I swear that I’ve just eaten the world’s best steak.
