The city’s air quality is unacceptable. For some, Salt Lake City is becoming unlivable. Has the Legislature considered road-rationing?
Road rationing has been successful in improving the air quality in Latin America, Europe and Asia. While most cities saw short-term improvements in air quality, studies indicate that sustaining those improvements may also require stricter vehicle-emission standards.
Is road rationing a realistic option for our community? It seems like Salt Lake City would benefit from at least a trial period of rationing. To incentivize compliance with the rationing laws, some cities even offer free public transportation!
Please contact your legislative representatives and request that they consider
a trial period. What’s the harm in a
dialogue?
