Radio West: Diane Rehm

Friday, June 12

I know you love hearing Diane Rehm’s voice on the radio as much as I do. Her strained and raspy, yet gentle and kind, tone is a nice break from the shouting political junkies and campy deejays who pervade the radio. Besides just hearing her voice, however, you have the opportunity next week to see Diane Rehm in person.

On Friday, June 12, Rehm will visit the Rose Wagner Theater for a live conversation with Doug Fabrizio, host of KUER 90.1 FM’s RadioWest. Rehm’s radio program, The Diane Rehm Show, has been on the air for more than 25 years. She has interviewed notable newsmakers, authors and journalists including Bill Clinton, Julie Andrews, Toni Morris and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Her characteristic strained vocal tone is a result of spasmodic dysphonia, a neurological condition that affects speech. Fans and professional journalists alike will not want to miss this discussion between two professional interviewers, to be broadcast live on RadioWest.

Radio West: Diane Rehm @ Rose Wagner Center, 138 W. 300 South, 801-355-2787, Friday, June 12, 7 p.m. KUER.org
