Amanda
nFemale, 20 Years Old • Logan

nn

What college are you attending?
nUtah State University

nn

What are you looking forward to this school year?
nMy classes (most exciting: Latin & African Dance), and the patio (as long as they don’t ban smoking on campus like there’s talk of). The patio is the only covered place on campus where people can smoke … and, God, that’s nice during the harsh winters in Logan.

nn

nThe Sound of Animals Fighting, Lover the Lord Has Left Us. And Natalie Merchant'she’s my all-time favorite musician.

nn

Favorite place to hang out when not in class?
nDuh, the patio. Well, that’s my favorite place on campus.

nn

Do you have a job? If not, who’s paying your tuition?
nYep, I was working two jobs for part of the summer, now I’m down to one. I guess I’m paying part, and the rest is covered by the government. Don’t whine because I’m poor and using your tax money'if you can’t get a Pell grant, perhaps you should have been a better son/daughter so your parents could pay your tuition.

nn

Are you leaving Utah as quickly as possible when you graduate?
nPossibly, but I’ve really grown to appreciate the beauty of Utah, especially Cache Valley. A lot of people complain about Mormons, or non-Mormons, but there are a lot of great people here. We just need to be open-minded to others’ beliefs and give mutual respect.
