Speaking of dogs

Expert advice for your pet

As I read your "expert advice" I wonder, do you even have a dog? I am bewildered at what your expert advice says about dogs being out in crowds. They love it! You really don't think dogs enjoy being outdoors with their owners, experiencing new smells and sights and other dogs? Taking your dog to the farmers market is a similar experience for them as taking them to the drum circle at liberty park on Sundays. Or do you think they hate that too...?
...I really hope you re-think your next advice..... just try and relate to dogs and the people who have them. Please, try.

Dear Patrick,
You're right. Our dogs would typically rather be with us than left at home. And that's probably what most dog owners are thinking when they take their dogs to the Farmers Market.  But I don't think that you can equate taking your dog to play in the park, with walking at your side from vendor to vendor and waiting while you squeeze the tomatoes. Yes, they always want to come along with us wherever we go, but would you take your dog with you to a fireworks display? Or a rock concert? Just take into consideration what's best for the dog. If your dog really enjoys walking with you at the Farmers Market, then that's fine for you. But my point is that most dogs do not, and I think people need to be more aware of this.

Thanks Patrick, we appreciate your comment.
