It seems everybody lost ridiculous amounts of money when the stock markets crashed. Some had to wave goodbye to their over-mortgaged houses when the housing market collapsed or bid farewell to jobs when layoffs piled up. Hardly anybody, however, understands the causes of the financial perfect storm. Attempts by most news programs to explain everything only made it more confusing.

Enter NPR’s Planet Money, which offers an insightful look at the financial meltdown. Now, hosts Alex Blumberg from This American Life and Adam Davidson have taken their show on the road, joining KUER’s senior reporter Jenny Brundin to discuss their radio series and the current state of the economy.

NPR’s Planet Money @ Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, 138 W. 300 South, 801-355-ARTS, November 5, 7 p.m., KUER.org
