This Is The Place Heritage Park is Utah’s own Colonial Williamsburg, a living-history attraction where one can step back in time and experience life as the pioneers of the old West did.
It’s better that such a historical theme park is playing host to a summer Mountain Man Rendezvous. This re-enactment demonstrates how those who lived in the Great Basin interacted and traded with one another before the pioneers settled these valleys in 1847.
There will be a traders’ row, an American Indian village and hunter encampments that will feature demonstrations in such necessary skills as handling period firearms, tailoring, blacksmithing, leather working, camp culinary arts, hide tanning and, of course, horse packing. They’re all taught by official members of such groups as American Mountain Men, American Long Rifle Association and Women of the Fur Trade.
