This year, bring a furry ball of luck home with you over St. Paddy’s Day by checking out the Lucky in Love Pet Adoption Event. If spring fever is getting to you, why not sign up to volunteer at one of Salt Lake City’s demonstration gardens? Later on, you can check out a University of Utah forum focusing on Utah’s aging population and how to get involved in volunteering with local hospices.

Salt Lake County Animal Services and nonprofit No More Homeless Pets is hoping that you will help turn the luck around for one of the hundreds of cats and dogs that will be part of an adoption giveaway event this weekend. Cats are just $5 and dogs are $50, with all animals spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Spring Cleaning at SLC Demonstration Garden

Salt Lake City hosts two demonstration gardens that help beautify the community and also demonstrate to residents local plant and flower species worth trying in their own gardens. This weekend, lend your green thumb to help do light gardening outside City Hall. No experience is necessary, but interested volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves and trowels. Health & Ability Forum

Join the Hinckley Institute of Politics and the Lowell Bennion Community Service Center for a forum on the politics and policy decisions surrounding Utah’s care for the elderly.
