The Utah Hispanic Dance Alliance—made up of folk dancers, teachers and enthusiasts alike—is a community group that has toured around the globe spreading knowledge of their native cultures through dance. Luckily for the locals, once a year, the UHDA takes a break from delighting world audiences and presents a Latin American Dance Spectacular in Salt Lake City.
The show, produced for a 10th consecutive year, includes performances Mexico, Bolivia and Argentina, among other countries—and, this year, turns the spotlight on the indigenous dancing of Columbia. Utilizing the many sure-footed native performers who call Utah home, the Spectacular presents ethnic dance that features all the colorful costumes and energetic indigenous music native to Latin America.
Latin American Dance Spectacular @ Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, 138 W. 300 South, 801-355-ARTS, Saturday, Oct. 24, 4 & 7 p.m. UHDA.org
