Josh Scheuerman
As an artist, I have tried various avenues to keep creating and building a work environment that inspires me and I have worked in a diversity of work settings that I love. Being a graphic designer, I have the opportunity to create new print media promotions and advertisements. In addition to design work, I also spend my nights and weekends working on acrylic, chalk art, and mixed media paintings. As a community activist I’ve learned if you are not willing to speak up for what you believe, your beliefs will always fall on deaf ears. I understand it’s difficult to make a living as an artist and by hosting a semi-annual event, Art Adoption in Salt Lake, I hope to give artists a little extra push to help them pursue their own carriers. Being an artist, I believe it’s vital to surround yourself with other artists, to share ideas and keep building on what others have already accomplished. I also believe City Weekly to be an avenue to independent media that I can rely on to communicate truthfully the issues in our city and surrounding state.
