Lawful Libations: Liquor License Battles Continue

Jam (751 N. 300 West), the popular gay beer bar located in Salt Lake City’s Marmalade district, hoped to receive a little more resolution on its liquor license issue Nov. 18. Unfortunately, the vote ended in a tie. The planning commission will take another vote Dec. 9 with a final decision expected Dec. 22.

You don’t need a DUI: My Sober Guy
A new company arrives in Salt Lake City ready for the holiday/DUI season. Instead of letting your lawyer and The Man make more money off your intoxication case, this new local company offers to pick up you—and your car—from wherever you are. They have a 100 percent “No DUI guarantee.” Visit MySoberGuy.com or call 801-359-RIDE (7433) when you’re too blotto for your auto.

Classic Soul and Funk: The Jackalope
Chaeone2 of Fourth Street music blew The Jackalope (372 S. State) up Nov. 18 for Classic Sounds of Soul and Funk Night. The weekly Wednesday party invites guests to bring their own records and give the turntables a whirl. Don’t be shy—the Jackalope welcomes everyone, from hip-hop heads to hipsters, skaters/snowboarders and anyone with a penchant for PBR.

Killer Kool-Aid: Jackalope’s “Oh Yeah”
You’ll be saying “Oh Yeah!” along with Kool-Aid’s mascot as you slam this Jackalope libation. This drink is sure to please with its sweet alcoholladen juice. Mike Eichorn made one for CW and we wanted to break through a wall with merriment.
