In his April 9 Hits & Misses column “Indicting DeChristopher,” Ted McDonough wrote, “What the Obama administration hopes to accomplish by now bringing down the hammer on monkey-wrench boy … is hard to fathom.”
The answer is clear! People go into politics to control others. While Obama is glad Tim DeChristopher screwed up Bush’s illegal oil leases, Obama does not want people breaking the rules. If DeChristopher gets away with it, others will try also. Those in power—be they Republican, Democrat, or anything else—need the rules to keep the power.
In the well-written City Weekly cover story on circumcision ["Circumcision Decision," Sept. 17], the God of the Jewish, Muslim and Christian religions is credited with beginning this practice: God demands that the 99-year- old Abraham cut off his foreskin in order to prove his loyalty.
