I generally love Mr. Dark's reporting; however, this one fell flat. The bedrock of the story is that defense attorney's are upset they aren't getting "friendly" enough plea deals for their clients? Implied in that complaint is that their clients are guilty. This county has suffered enough under Sim Gill's sweetheart deals for guilty criminals, putting hard core criminals back on the street without so much as a slap on the wrist, time and time again. I am glad Ms. Veeru-Collings cares enough about her community to not bow to the lobbying pressure of the defense attorney's. This was a non-story, it is not a prosecutor's job to please defense attorney's. If they think their guilty clients are getting a raw deal, take it to trial.
