High West Patsy Cline
On Saturday, Oct. 29th, High West Distillery & Saloon will host a fall harvest dinner with special musical guest Patsy Cline. Well, Patsy is long departed, of course. But filling her shoes will be Erica Hansen, who played the musical legend in the musical Always … Patsy Cline. The evening will kick off with a cocktail hour, from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by dinner and music beginning at 7. High West executive chef James Dumas has created a three-course (plus dessert buffet) tasting menu that includes dishes such as country-rabbit paté, pan-seared red Utah trout and Morgan Valley lamb Wellington. Optional whiskey or wine pairings will be available for each course, including High West’s newest spirit: Son of Bourye, a blend of straight bourbon and rye whiskeys. The advance ticket price for the dinner and show is $70 per person, with additional charges for the optional whiskey pairing ($14.50) or optional wine pairing ($47). Pago’s Pumpkins
On Sunday, Oct. 30, Pago restaurant will offer their second-annual pumpkin-tasting Halloween menu—a three-course dinner featuring, of course, pumpkins! In addition to Pago’s regular dinner menu, the pumpkin tasting menu will be available for $30 per person. The pumpkin tasting begins with heirloom pumpkin chowder, followed by an entree of housemade pumpkin ravioli, made with roasted heirloom pumpkins, homemade ricotta, garlic cream sauce and herbs. BOOrito 2011
This Halloween, as part of BOOrito 2011, Chipotle is asking customers to dress up in family-farm-themed costumes to support Farm Aid and The Chipotle Cultivate Foundation, an organization aimed at supporting individuals and organizations working with independent family farms, sustainable agriculture and education aimed at future generations of farming. After 6 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 31, customers dressed in theme costumes can purchase a $2 burrito, with proceeds benefitting both organizations, up to $1 million. CultivateFoundation.org.
