St. Patrick’s Day: At the Bay
Bliss recently reverted back to The Bay to match the architecture of their building and pool on 404 S. West Temple. The retro name change doesn’t mean the club is sliding back into the ‘90s—it’s as vibrant as ever with new theme nights. Sin City’s Mike Toast is the resident DJ for Friday Madness, and DJs like NYC’s DJ Micro will be performing on a regular basis for Rise Nightlife’s awesome Saturdays. Sundays will see an opening of the pool again soon, and the amazing “Bay” logo will finally fit in again as you stare into the blue.
St. Patrick’s Day had Wednesday night’s regular DJ Dao from U92 spinning to a very bawdy crowd on the best day to drink out of the year. The new Huka Bar in the basement also had people in a huff ‘n’ puff as traveling bagpipers Heathen Highlanders Bagpipe Corps made one of their 47—yes, 47!— St. Paddy’s Day stops with entertaining Irish classics.
All A-Twitter: The Hotel’s Tweet Up
Twitter.com is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with, and the cool kids in the know are posting all their club events online. The Hotel/Club Elevate (155 W. 200 South) is taking the concept one step beyond by organizing the first event of its kind in Salt Lake City, a dance club Tweet Up Party in April. Tweets at the event will be broadcast onto the compound’s flat-screen TVs, and Fox 13’s feistiest anchor Nineveh Dinah will be hosting. DJs Juggy and Jello, the Double-Threat “J” Combo of PAC, will be making sure the tweets are inspired-sexy for all your dance-fiend needs.
