Want to be a human voice for all the barking and meowing critters in Utah in need of loving homes? This weekend, enjoy two great fundraising parties for organizations trying find homes for homeless Utah animals. Between parties, work off the drinks and food by helping with trail maintenance at Mount Timpanogos.

Third Annual Furry Fiesta
Friday, Aug. 13

The Utah Animal Adoption Center cordially invites you and your doggy out to its Furry Fiesta. True to the theme, guests will enjoy food courtesy of Café Rio and drinks courtesy of Uinta Brewing and Barefoot Wine. There will also be music provided by the Daniel Day Trio to serenade you and your pets as you enjoy pet psychic sessions, tarot card readings and enjoy entertainment by the Dazzle Dogs. Yup, the Dazzle Dogs—enough said. Donations will run $35 a person or $60 for a couple.

Trail Cleanup
Saturday, Aug. 14

The trails of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest are well loved and well trod—maybe a little too much, as they require yearly maintenance from use and abuse. That’s where dedicated canyon lovers can help by volunteering with Save Our Canyons to clean up the trails. On Aug. 14, bring water, lunch and work clothes and help take care of the trails of Mount Timpanogos.

Barking Ball Gala & Auction
Saturday, Aug. 14

For a pet fundraiser with panache, check out the Friends of Animals Utah auction. The event will offer live and silent auctions and drinks and appetizers courtesy of Park City’s swankiest restaurants. Tickets can be bought at the door or online for $75, with proceeds helping rescue animals from local shelters.
