You know that delightfully naughty feeling you get when you stumble upon someone else’s grocery list in a shopping cart, or an old letter in a new apartment? It’s those deliciously voyeuristic moments of peeking into a stranger’s life that inspired Davy Rothbart to create Found magazine. Found brilliantly compiles notes, letters and pictures found on streets, park benches, Kinko’s counters and anywhere else you can imagine. The popularity of the publication led to Requiem of a Paper Bag, a collection of more random submissions and essays from writers and musicians about their favorite found items.

Rothbart and his brother Pete will perform live as part of their “Denim & Diamonds” tour celebrating the publication of Requiem. The performance consists of songs and readings inspired by recent Found submissions and is sure to be as hilarious, heartbreaking and eye-opening as the magazine. Make sure to bring your own favorite found items to share, as the brothers love audience participation.

Found Magazine Denim & Diamonds Tour @ Brewvies Cinema Pub, 677 S. 200 West, 801-355-5500, Tuesday, June 30, 8 p.m.
