When you hear Utah State Fair, many think first of rodeos, berry-jam contests and weird food options—fried Kool-Aid or beaver on a stick, anyone?—but check out this musical melange. Wilson Phillips starts things off on Thursday; Provo’s own Rolling Stone Choose the Cover Contest finalists Fictionist take the Grandstand on Friday; and the Salt Lake Men’s Choir cues up Sunday—all three shows are free with purchase of a general-admission ticket. And the music gets stranger than the fair’s fried goodies on Monday with Weird Al Yankovic. The parody purveyor is touring in support of his 2011 release Alpocolypse, and it’s everything you’d expect from The Weird One. For a full lineup, visit Utah-State-Fair.com.
