This just might be the most interesting booking choice of this summer’s Twilight Concert Series, and I’m betting this double-bill will generate a lot of new fans for both bands. In Ghostland Observatory, you have an Austin-based dance-rock duo that combines stuttering beats and sparse soundscapes with a psychedelic bent that incorporates some of the duo’s country and blues hometown influences. Ghostland’s live reputation is that of a great concert experience. Opening up is the synth-pop duo Phantogram, who record in an upstate New York barn full of samplers, percussion instruments and assorted synthesizers that they used to create the excellent 2010 release Eyelid Movies.
