Gray Wall Gallery focuses on displaying underexposed local artists—and what better way to do that than with a group show? The gallery also likes to mix it up as far as media, including painting, photography and sculpture in an eclectic stylistic medley. The name of the gallery emphasizes the art taking precedence over the place.

Photographers Brook Mingo and Randy Laub take the lens into far-flung regions—the latter documenting world travels, the former using Holga cameras with super-crisp 120mm film. Don Coy sculpts in bronze, and Daren Young’s paintings are inspired by the disparate locales of Moab and Venice. Qi Peng’s work is the most “meta” here, documenting his past art shows. For Matthew Hall—the gallery’s curator who is displaying text alterations in this show—it will be a farewell exhibit, as he is leaving to take up MFA studies at Penn State. (Brian Staker)
