15th & 15th Block Party & Street Festival

The hip little ‘hood at 15th and 15th is proving it’s a walkable community by blocking off the streets to motorized traffic this weekend. Four-wheelers will be replaced by two-footers participating in an abundance of family-friendly activities. That’s right: It’s a street festival!

The King’s English Bookshop will host storyteller Rob Eckman throughout the afternoon, along with authors Hank Shaw (Hunt, Gather, Cook) at 6 p.m. and Corinne Humphrey (Shoot for the Moon) from Park City at 6 p.m. Bicycle guru and fitness educator Mike & the Bike will discuss cycling safety and promote a new workbook series for kids called Summer Fit from 4:30-6 p.m., in addition to exhibiting a BMX freestyle show.

At 15th Street Gallery, festivalgoers can view Sue Weeks’ landscapes and architectural designer Tom Kass’ contemporary work. Caputo’s Market will host live music by blues/jazz ensemble The Orbit Group. Various restaurants will offer delicious samples.
