Part of the British reggae and ska explosion of the early ‘80s, Pato Banton is still going strong as a touring force, having recently formed a new band, the Now Generation, and then hitting the road for a trip across the states. He first came into the public eye as a guest on a Ranking Roger track on English Beat’s Special Beat Service album, and then popped up on a UB40 album, Baggariddim, in the mid-‘80s before making a name for himself with nonstop tours, appearances at Peter Gabriel’s WOMAD festivals and albums like Visions of the World and Wize Up! His most recent release is Destination Paradise. Friday 5.20 @ The State Room, 638 S. State, 8 p.m., $17 advance/$20 day of show; Saturday 5.21 @ Basin Recreation Fieldhouse, 1388 Main St., Park City, 5 p.m., Free
