L.A. duo honeyhoney don’t like labels, and trying to pin one on their sound is virtually impossible. Sure, the tunes on their debut, Loose Boots, and the new Billy Jack can be lumped under “new folk,” but what about those jazzy excursions? Or the gritty slices of Americana that include fiddles and banjos? And there’s no denying the occasional twang that takes the band into alt-country territory. Whatever you call them, honeyhoney are worth a listen. Seafinch opens. Wednesday 4.27 @ The State Room, 638 S. State, 8 p.m., $12 advance/$15 day of show
