The Road Home strives to assist homeless
individuals and families in Salt Lake County. But due to the economic climate in recent years, the program has taken financial hits. In an effort to help the organization and those in need, filmmaker Iosua Tai Taeoalii organized a one-night charity drive with some of Utah’s most innovative artists and performers, set up in the old Sit ‘N Sleep building on Highland Drive.

In 2010, the group raised more than $4,000 from individuals and businesses, and it wants to double that this year. Some contributing artists include Kat Martin, Veronica Perez, Sonia Evans, Brian Gerber, Troy Henderson and the elusive B3RG, not to mention music from Brian Bingham and The Precinct, spoken-word performances from Jean Howard and Jesse Parent, and DJ Sayo scratching in the bar below. All proceeds from prize drawings, silent auctions and door donations will benefit The Road Home.
