Formerly known as Tardy Mardi, The Masquerade Party is first and foremost a fundraiser to support artistic programming at the Utah Arts Festival. But rest assured, it’s also one hell of a celebration.
Although the annual event no longer directly references that epic shindig in the Big Easy, there are still plenty of Mardi Gras influences to be found. The catering, for one, will be a Cajun affair created by students of the Art Institute’s culinary program. There will also be a Texas Hold ’Em Tournament that begins around noon, with the final table starting at the beginning of the soiree so attendees can take in the heated card action. Add to all that a mask competition, plenty of imbibing and swinging on the dance floor, and this midwinter you will surely be reminded just how much fun it is when the UAF brings together the art-loving community of Utah.
