Costa’s first two albums featured a winning brand of folk-rock that garnered him stints opening tours for the likes of Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse and Oasis, but chances are he won’t be opening for anyone anymore after the world hears Mobile Chateau. Costa’s new album is a blissful throwback to ‘60s-era psychedelia like Donovan, 13th Floor Elevators and their twisted ilk. It’s a bold step forward for a young artist, and watching him deliver it live should be a treat. Threes and Nines open. Friday 10.22 @ The Complex, 537 W. 100 South, 6:30 p.m., $15
