Moab Arts Festival

Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, and what better way to launch the season than by attending the 21st-annual Moab Arts Festival? This celebration of art will include jewelry, pottery, sculpture, fine art, clothing, photography, live music, art vendors, art for kids and a food court. In addition, this year, the festival will feature the Moab Taiko Dan, a group of diverse individuals who practice the Japanese art of Taiko drumming. Moab Taiko Dan also explores multicultural rhythms and original composition, creating a rhythm and sound like no other. The festival’s food vendors are as eclectic as the art and range from barbecue beef and pork sandwiches to quesadillas. And what art festival would be complete without an array of live music? Utah’s own Sister Wives and Celtic bluegrass group Wayward Molly (pictured) are on the docket, and are sure to enhance the environment and your mood. (Aimee Cook O’Brien)
