Jenniffer Wardell: Fairy Godmothers, Inc.

Once upon a time, there was a writer named Jenniffer Wardell who contributed to City Weekly. But perhaps she made a wish to one day see the publication of her debut novel. And wishes do sometimes come true.

They can come true in funny and surprising ways in Wardell’s Fairy Godmothers, Inc., a witty romantic fantasy about a young fairy godmother named Kate whose by-the-book corporate wish-granting employer hands her a particularly challenging assignment. Sure, the flighty Cinderella—Rellie for short—seems like the perfect match for the irresponsible Prince Charming. But there’s the small matter of needing a fancy-dress ball to be scheduled. And Prince Charming’s sudden existential crisis. And Kate unexpectedly falling in love herself with the prince’s more sensible younger brother, Jon, who even seems to feel the same way.

Can love conquer all—and can Kate master that difficult “glass slippers” spell—in time? Join the author’s book launch to find out. (Scott Renshaw)
