Ivan & Alyosha, Fort Atlantic, L'anarchiste

Ivan & Alyosha, a Seattle-based folk-rock band whose name comes from Dostoyevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov, is one of those new bands whose music crossed the NPR desk and stuck in those tastemakers’ ears, which helped propel the band’s harmony-laden roots music to stardom—from its inclusion on All Songs Considered’s 2010 SXSW preview to the band’s 2013 SXSW showcases, recorded in full by NPR. The band’s founding members, Tim Wilson and Ryan Carbary (rounded out by two other full-time members and a rotating touring posse), have released three EPs, which led up to their gorgeous, joyful and thoughtfully penned 2013 full-length debut, All the Times We Had. Check out the first single, “Running for Cover,” for a dose of folk that’s every bit as heartwarming as their Cinderella public-radio story. L’anarchiste and Fort Atlantic open the show. $10 in advance, $12 day of show
