Jay William Henderson CD Release, Scott Shepard, Brinton Jones

It’s never too late to celebrate an excellent CD with a release show, right? It’s been six months since Jay William Henderson (formerly the principal songwriter for Band of Annuals) officially released his existential and strikingly beautiful solo album, The Sun Will Burn Our Eyes. He was busy moving to and from Nashville, Tenn., and never had a proper release show. “This is more of a thank you to the many people who have put money and time into the record. It’s a way of honoring them for all of their hard work,” says the humble bard, never mentioning wanting any personal gain. Sure, it’s remarkable that several benefactors gave Henderson roughly $25,000 (no strings attached) to record his dream album, yet, in return, he recorded many folk-loving music lovers’ dream album. The nine songs are sensitive, melodic and intricate. Henderson will be backed by a full band for this performance. Brinton Jones and Scott Shepard are also on the bill. $8
