Watchdog Journalism Training

Been feeling the need to brush up on your journalism skills, or lack there of? If so, you’re in luck. Brigham Young University’s Department of Communications in conjunction with the Utah Association of Latino Journalists is holding a Watchdog Workshop. The training will offer several sessions aimed to improve your ability to find info on the Web fast, as well as point you to key documents and data that will help you dispense a top-notch story. Also hear from the pros, as speakers will include Joel Campbell of BYU, Nate Carlisle of the Salt Lake Tribune and Brent Walth of Williamette Week. If you cant catch this opportunity on March 15, optional training sessions will be held on March 16. From 9am-12:30 pm come and learn about computer-assisted reporting, and from 1-4:30 pm attend a social media lab. Register now at IRE.org.
