Leftover Salmon

Eight years after the Boulder, Colo., bluegrass-influenced jam band Leftover Salmon announced that they would be going on hiatus, they have returned, reunited and released Aquatic Hitchhiker. The Steve Berlin-produced (of Los Lobos) album is the first record to have original songs by the purveyors of Cajun/zydeco, country, bluegrass and rock & roll. The self-proclaimed “polyethnic Cajun slamgrass” band hasn’t stopped there, though; they’ve been touring across the States and were even featured as a house band on the television show After the Catch, a behind-the-scenes look at Deadliest Catch. It’s obviously a comeback, and not just a reunion. Along with a back catalog of songs from seven albums, fans can catch new material from Leftover Salmon, which the band plans to record soon.
