How many bands can boast that their frontwoman is a voice actor? And I’m not talking Pixar. Hey Ocean!’s Ashleigh Ball acts the parts of Rainbow Dash (a weather-controlling pegasus pony) and Applejack (apple-farming pony) on My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. There’s even a fan-made video for Hey Ocean!’s “Big Blue Wave” that features clips from the animated show. It’s cute, as are the eclectic pop tunes from this Vancouver threesome.
