Galleries are popping up in the unlikeliest of places lately. The newest addition to the Salt Lake City gallery scene, the Urban Arts Gallery, is in the south end of The Gateway at street level, near “restaurant row.” As part of the nonprofit Utah Arts Alliance, the Urban Arts Gallery will focus on urban arts inspired by the bustling downtown environment. The initial lineup of 17 local artists includes everything from art constructed with automobile refuse to graffiti art to conventional oil paintings.
