Ski Salt Lake Shootout

Riding the overwhelming success of countless published gallery images and magazine covers, the Ski Salt Lake Shootout is back for its sixth consecutive year. Eight professional photographers and skiers will battle it out for cash prizes and bragging rights as they attempt to capture the magic of the Cottonwood Canyon resorts and Ski Salt Lake through stunning imagery.

New to the competition this year, Ski Salt Lake is partnering with the Utah Avalanche Center (UAC) for the award party being held at Brewvies on Saturday, February 16th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Shootout award party is open to the public and all ticket proceeds are benefiting the UAC. Also new this year is the Athlete’s Choice category honoring the best photo of a skier, the winning image to grace a full-page ad in POWDER Magazine and net the athlete a cool $500.

Entering the Shootout’s sixth year, Ski Salt Lake is looking forward to sharing the competition’s success with the UAC. “We ‘re thrilled to partner with the UAC this year, ” said Jessica Fredrickson, Tourism Communications Manager for Visit Salt Lake. “With so many of our photographers and athletes frequenting the backcountry, we wanted to benefit an organization relevant to the competition.”
