National Girls and Women in Sports Day

Westminster College celebrates National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The 2013 theme for NGWSD is "Girls in Sports, an Investment in the Future."

As part of NGWSD, Westminster will host “Bring a Girl to the Game” event on Feb. 23, at 5:30 p.m. at the Westminster women's basketball game. Mention National Girls and Women in Sports Day and girls and one guest will be admitted for free. Any additional family members pay only $1. A half time shooting for all girls and an autograph session with the Westminster Women's Basketball team will take place after the game.

All events will be located in the Dolores Doré Eccles Health, Wellness and Athletic Center. The sports and recreation clinic is open to girls ages 6–14, and all skill levels are welcome to participate. The clinic will feature hip-hop dancing, rock climbing, basketball, volleyball, soccer, track and field/cross country, golf, table tennis, racquetball, swimming, yoga, lacrosse, martial arts and Zumba. The registration fee is $10 a participant (includes t-shirt, drawstring backpack and water bottle for the first 170 girls to register). Register online here.
