Testament, a thrash-metal band formed in Berkeley, Calif., in 1983, reached their height of commercial success in 2012, when Dark Roots of Earth debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200. Frenetic and aggressive, Testament is heavy, yet accessible to non-metalheads. The band recently won the award for Best Music Video at the American Indian Film Festival for “Native Blood,” which is about vocalist Chuck Billy’s Native American heritage. Also on the bill are thrash metal bands Overkill, Flotsam & Jetsam and Harm. (Nicole McDonald)
