Emilie Autumn

Emilie Autumn—a self-described “Victoriandustrial” glam-rocker—was a perfect fit to be cast in The Devil’s Carnival. To describe Autumn, think Lady Gaga but more goth, or coned-tit-era Madonna but with more dungeon-burlesque charm. She played the “Painted Doll” who “not only commits both violent and sexual acts (not at the same time, sorry), but also sings and cavorts” she wrote on her blog. Well, it never made the big screen, but the horror flick can be purchased at TheDevilsCarnival.com. The violin prodigy has always been bursting out of her creative corset—from attending the Music Conservatory at Indiana University as a teen, to composing rock operas soon after, to penning The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls, which depicts her bipolar disorder and her stay in a psych ward. Now, she’s on tour for the freshly released Fight Like a Girl, a concept album based on her autobiography. (Austen Diamond)
