Wovenhand, INVDRS, Light Black

If you can imagine a Pentecostal battle cry with subtle metal influences, that’s the sound of Wovenhand. Rather than being preachy, Wovenhand—led by singer David Eugene Edwards, formerly of 16 Horsepower—uses lyrics inspired by the Bible to present universal themes such as suffering and joy; the result is dark and melodic. With an eclectic blend of influences from Celtic, alt-country, folk, metal and American Indian music, Wovenhand has created a new genre all its own, what I’d like to call “druid forest metal.” Light Black and local favorites INVDRS will open. Wovenhand was originally scheduled to perform Dec. 9, but that show was canceled. All original tickets will be redeemed. (Nicole McDonald)
