Both competitions kick off with entertainment the evening of Jan. 30. Park City Mountain will have a Big Air show under the lights from 5 to 6:30 p.m. That gives everybody time to get over to Main Street by 7 p.m., as the World Cup event kicks off with a concert by Cold War Kids, followed by fireworks at 9 p.m.
FIS action at Deer Valley starts off Jan. 31, with the moguls competition running from 3 to 8 p.m. The aerial skiers hit the hills Friday, Feb. 1, from 12:30 to 8:30 p.m. The weekend winds up on Saturday with the dual moguls event from 2 to 7:45 p.m. Each of the three nights will finish off with fireworks. The World Cup will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network on Feb. 2 and 3, and on NBC on Feb. 9.
Meanwhile, Park City Mountain’s Eagle Superpipe will host halfpipe ski and snowboard qualifying and finals Jan. 30 through Feb. 2.
Whichever way you go, you’ll see skiers and boarders flying through the air in Park City. (Geoff Griffin)
