Geographer

Geographer have described themselves as “soulful music from outer space.” Well, that sounds a little too precious for my tastes, but their music video for “Lover’s Game” does conjure up an Area 51 vibe, with poncho-ed, faceless folks walking around in the rain while the band plays in a way reminiscent of an indie-rock Blue Man Group. This single, off of 2012’s Myth, is a prime example of Geographer’s ambient, melodic sound, which easily compares to contemporaries like Active Child and Blackbird Blackbird. Outer space? Nah. Solid tunes from San Francisco? Yes, definitely. On An On and Giraffula open the show.
