EVE SLC

EVE 4.0 is banking on booking national touring bands to help bring the crowds downtown and celebrate at an outdoor venue. And it just might work, considering this year’s lineup. Booking bands for New Year’s Eve is no easy feat, because most already have plans or ask for ridiculous wages. So, the Downtown Alliance turned to veteran Casey Jarman, Twilight Concert Series executive director, to land a mix of current, relevant artists. The Saturday, Dec. 29, lineup includes NOLA brass ensemble The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and blues-rock funk-master Nick Waterhouse. The Sunday, Dec. 30, show includes local artist David Williams backed by the Joshua Payne Orchestra, followed by Portland, Ore.-based folk-rock act Blind Pilot. And for the New Year’s Eve celebrations, local brooding indie-rockers Night Sweats, local afrobeat ensemble No Nation Orchestra and disco-punk national rockers !!! (Chk Chk Chk) will bring in 2013 properly.
