After nearly two decades in child-prodigies-turned-Grammy-winning bluegrass band Nickel Creek, fiddle player Sara Watkins went solo in 2009. And after years of touring, Watkins’ second solo disc, Sun Midnight Sun, avoids the sophomore slump; rather, she’s hit her stride. With graceful playing and evocative singing, Watkins is as sweet as ever, but boasts an extra air of confidence and soulfulness. Ruth Moody opens the show.
