BassMint Pros Recond/Cassette Release Show

When Beatnik Da Diabolik talks about the hip-hop coming out of the Ogden-based collective he started, BassMint Pros, he almost always uses the adjective “real.” He’s talking some old-school cassette-tape boombox hip-hop—real hip-hop, he says. He further explains: “BMP delves into areas considered passé and cliché to the masses, but to the BassMint Pros these elements represent all that is hip-hop.” The collective has artists in many forms, not limited to breakdancing, bombing & tagging, beatboxing, cutting & scratching and rapping.
