Since its formation in 1992, the Brentano String Quartet has garnered
international acclaim for its “glittering clarity of sound” (The
Strad) and “yearning lyricism” (New York Times). Honors such as the
Royal Philharmonic Award for Most Outstanding Debut and the Naumburg
Chamber Music Award led the quartet to being named the first resident
string quartet at Princeton University. The quartet’s stunning program
will include Purcell’s “Group of Fantasies;” Haydn’s Quartet in E-flat
Major, Op. 33, No. 2, “Joke;” and Beethoven’s Quartet in B-flat, Op,
130 with the “Grosse Fuge.”
